Who is responsible

Swiss Signal is responsible for the data described on this page. Contact hello@swiss-signal.com for any privacy question or request.

What we collect

Your email address, if you sign up for the free monthly highlights list or subscribe to a paid tier.

A one-time confirmation click for the free list. Signing up sends a confirmation link to your address before anything else happens, a practice called double opt-in.

Billing information for paid subscriptions. Card details and billing profile information are collected and processed entirely by Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach our own servers.

Standard web server access logs on our hosting infrastructure. Every request to swiss-signal.com records an IP address, browser identification string and the page requested, the same way most websites do.

What we use it for

Sending you the weekly digest or the monthly free highlights.

Running paid subscriptions and billing through Stripe.

Preventing abuse of the signup form, for example repeated automated submissions.

Resolving delivery problems such as a bounced or rejected email.

The digest content itself

The formations, bankruptcies, liquidations, mergers and mutations in each digest come from the SHAB, the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce, a public record published under SR 221.415. That content is public information about Swiss companies, not personal data about you, filtered and scored by Swiss Signal.

How long we keep it

Your email address is kept while your subscription or free list membership is active. Unsubscribing or cancelling marks your record inactive rather than deleting it automatically, contact hello@swiss-signal.com to have it removed by hand.

A record of which week's digest was sent to which address is kept indefinitely, this is how repeat sends are avoided and how delivery is accounted for.

Notifications from Stripe and Resend about your subscription or delivery status, for example a failed charge or a bounced email, are kept in our internal logs indefinitely for audit and dispute resolution.

Web server access logs are kept for 14 days, then deleted automatically.

Who else sees it

Stripe handles billing and payment processing for paid subscriptions. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Resend delivers our emails. See Resend's privacy policy.

Hetzner Online GmbH hosts our servers in Nuremberg, Germany. See Hetzner's privacy policy.

Nobody else. Your email address is not sold or shared with any other party, and Swiss Signal does not run advertising.

Cookies and local storage

Swiss Signal does not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and does not use cookies at all today. Two small preferences are stored in your browser's local storage instead, which language you last viewed and whether you chose light or dark mode. Both stay on your device, are never sent to our servers, and are not used to identify or track you.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@swiss-signal.com for any of these, requests are handled by hand today rather than through a self-service tool.
